🦮 Large · United States
A sturdily built American bulldog breed with a more athletic build than the classic Bulldog, a friendly temperament and pronounced self-assurance, bred specifically for better health.

The Olde English Bulldogge is confident, friendly and family-oriented, powerfully built with a healthy dose of self-assurance. It is considered more balanced and less stubborn than some related bulldog types.
Despite its powerful build, it is noticeably more agile and has more stamina than the classic Bulldog and needs regular, moderate exercise. Excessive exertion in heat should be avoided because of its shortened muzzle.
The short coat is low-maintenance and needs only occasional brushing. Facial skin folds should be cleaned regularly to prevent irritation.
Its powerful, robust build and strong assertiveness call for consistent, loving training from puppyhood, so some dog experience is beneficial.
The breed was deliberately bred to be healthier than the classic Bulldog, with a longer muzzle and more athletic build, yet breathing problems and joint issues can still occur. Healthy growth and weight control should be monitored.
