🦮 Large · Germany
A calm, self-possessed companion dog with a strong bond to its family that stays reserved with strangers and needs plenty of consistent socialization.

The Eurasier is even-tempered, watchful without excessive protectiveness, and initially distant with strangers. It forms a very close, loyal bond with its family.
Exercise needs are moderate; regular walks and mental stimulation are enough. It is not an endurance athlete but values a reliable daily routine.
The dense double coat needs regular brushing, especially during the twice-yearly heavy shedding periods. Bathing is rarely necessary, as the coat is largely self-cleaning.
Its reserve toward strangers requires careful, early socialization, otherwise uncertainty can turn into fearfulness. It suits calm, consistent owners well.
Breed-typical conditions include hip dysplasia and a tendency toward hypothyroidism. Regular hip X-rays for breeding animals are recommended.
