🦮 Large · England
A heavy, easygoing flushing dog with a calm temperament that, despite its bulky build, needs regular exercise to keep its weight in check.

The Clumber Spaniel is good-natured, calm, and more reserved than other spaniel breeds. It is affectionate without being overly demanding of attention.
Exercise needs are moderate; daily walks and occasional retrieving are enough. Because of its heavy build, weight gain should be avoided through appropriate feeding and regular exercise.
The dense, silky coat needs regular brushing, and the drop ears require frequent checks because of infection risk. Facial skin folds should also be checked for irritation.
Its calm nature generally makes it manageable, but health vulnerabilities and drooling require some grooming experience. It suits quieter households better than active sporting families.
Breed-typical conditions include hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, and a tendency toward spinal problems due to its long back. Regular orthopedic checks are recommended.
