🦮 Large · Poland
The Chart Polski is a sturdy Polish sighthound with exceptional sight-hunting ability, a calm temperament indoors, and great stamina in open country.

The Chart Polski is calm, dignified, and rather reserved in the house, but transforms outdoors into a focused hunter with a strongly pronounced sight-hunting drive. It is reserved toward strangers and very affectionate and loyal toward its family.
Unlike many sighthounds, the Chart Polski has a sturdier build and a comparatively normal, not extremely deep chest. Besides calm walks it needs regular sprints in securely fenced areas to work off its energy.
The short, dense coat is low-maintenance and needs only occasional brushing. In cold weather and with a thin winter coat, the breed benefits from a dog coat, as it carries little subcutaneous fat.
The pronounced prey drive and the need for secure fencing call for experience with sighthounds; unsupervised off-leash time near game or small animals is risky.
The more normal, less extreme chest lowers the risk of bloat compared with other sighthound breeds. Overall the breed is considered robust and not very disease-prone; eye problems occur occasionally.
