🐾 Small · Tibet
An alert, independent small companion dog of Tibetan origin that likes to perch up high and keep watch over its surroundings.

The Tibetan Spaniel is bright, affectionate with its family and rather reserved toward strangers. It has a strong watchdog instinct and reliably announces visitors.
This small dog needs daily walks and light enrichment but is undemanding about exercise volume. It naturally seeks out climbing spots and elevated vantage points.
The medium-length, silky coat needs brushing two to three times a week but is easier to maintain than that of many other long-coated breeds. Ears and teeth should be checked regularly.
Well suited to beginners as a hardy, adaptable small dog with manageable grooming needs. Consistent but gentle training helps temper the breed's independent streak.
The breed is considered comparatively robust; patellar luxation and progressive retinal atrophy (PRA) are described as breed-typical. Regular eye checks are recommended.
