🐾 Small · France
A bright, eager-to-learn companion dog with a curly, low-shedding coat that requires regular professional grooming.

The Miniature Poodle is highly intelligent, attentive and devoted to its family. It's eager to learn and can be kept busy in many ways, but tends toward insecurity or excessive barking when understimulated.
Despite its compact size, the Miniature Poodle needs daily exercise plus mental stimulation through trick training, scent work or agility. Plain walks alone usually aren't enough.
The curly coat grows continuously and needs professional clipping every four to six weeks plus brushing several times a week to prevent matting. Teeth and ears should be checked regularly.
Well suited to beginners who have time for grooming and enrichment, since the Miniature Poodle is cooperative and eager to learn. The high grooming effort and ongoing grooming costs are often underestimated.
Breed-typical conditions include patellar luxation, progressive retinal atrophy (PRA) and epilepsy, with Cushing's disease occurring less often. Regular eye exams and knee checks are recommended.
