🐾 Small · Germany
A spirited, alert small dog with a confident, sometimes dominant demeanor that, despite its small size, needs consistent training and sufficient exercise.

The Miniature Pinscher is lively, bold, and watchful, often seemingly unaware of its small size. It is fiercely loyal to its family but wary of strangers and prone to excessive yapping.
Despite its small size, exercise needs are high; daily, varied walks and mental stimulation are necessary. The dog is very agile and loves to jump.
The short, smooth coat is low-maintenance and needs only occasional rubbing down. Because the breed is sensitive to cold, a coat is recommended in low temperatures.
Suited to beginners with some caveats, since its spirited, strong-willed character requires consistent training from puppyhood on. Without clear leadership, the breed tends toward excessive barking and dominance behavior.
Patellar luxation is breed-typical, and Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease also occurs more frequently in small breeds. Regular orthopedic checks of the knee joints are recommended.
