Temperament & character

Alert, playful, and strongly bonded to his owner. Both varieties, Hairless and Powderpuff, share a similarly trusting, sensitive temperament.

Exercise & stimulation

Moderate exercise needs, agile and playful despite a delicate build. Time outdoors in extreme temperatures should be adjusted to the skin or coat situation.

Grooming

The Hairless variety needs sun protection, skin care, and protection from cold, while the Powderpuff variety needs regular brushing of the long coat. Dentition is often irregular in the hairless form and needs checking.

Suitable for beginners?

Suitable only for owners who consistently manage skin care and temperature protection in daily life. Less suitable for pure beginners with little time to spare.

Skin problems such as acne, sunburn, and allergies, dental anomalies, patellar luxation, and pronounced cold sensitivity.
