Temperament & character

Calm, gentle and closely bonded to one person. Can develop separation anxiety if not socialized adequately.

Exercise & stimulation

Low to moderate exercise needs; short daily walks and indoor play sessions are usually enough.

Grooming

The dense, curly, continuously growing coat needs regular, ideally daily brushing plus occasional clipping to prevent matting.

Very well suited to beginners, seniors and apartment living. Consistent early socialization prevents excessive attachment and separation anxiety.

Health & common problems

Patellar luxation and occasional tear-duct issues occur. Overall a healthy, long-lived breed.
